Good Afternoon. Bruce has been asking me to talk about ROI for 2years.  I kept telling him …

When I started practice in 1978 computers in the clinical  laboratory. Results were hand written and  manually shingled into the pt’s chart and hand delivered to the physicians mailbox.

Today our laboratory IT group has annual expenses of almost $5 million, supports A MULTITUDE OF  systems and has over 50 employees.  Sixty percent of our capital dollars are spent on IT.

TALK ABOUT A TRANSFORMATION!

The is nothing more critical to the operation of a modern clinical laboratory than it’s information systems. It complexity also constitutes our largest risk.
Computer systems don’t produce revenue, but without them there is no revenue.
